Union wins APPR reprieve

Gov. Kathy Hochul Friday signed a bill suspending, for an additional year, the Annual Professional Performance Review process. Advanced through grassroots advocacy from NYSUT members and lobbying by union legislative staff, the bill recently passed both the state Senate and the Assembly.

On Thursday, March 19, SUNY Corning Community College student leaders will invite an open discussion about the college administration's announced cuts to academic programs and its termination of six faculty positions.
 
The forum, which will take place physically in the Kelly Lounge of the CCC Commons, will be livestreamed beginning at 12:15 using the Student Association Instagram account @corningcc_sa, allowing for other students and community members to hear students' perspectives on these critical issues despite the restrictions imposed on gatherings due to the COVID-12 outbreak.
