Tentative Agreement between BCFPE and County

BCFPE and the Baltimore County Administration have come to a Tentative Agreement (TA) to amend the current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which would otherwise expire on June 30, 2020. [You can read the Tentative Agreement here]. The BCFPE Negotiations Committee unanimously recommended the TA to the Executive Board for acceptance. On April 9, 2020 the BCFPE Executive Board unanimously accepted the TA and recommended it for a ratification vote by the membership.

RC 15/16 Programs Cancelled

During these unprecedented and uneasy times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and in an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel the following Programs and Events.

  • The Annual Spring Luncheon and RC 15/16 Election scheduled for June 11, 2020 has been cancelled. The Election will be held at a date to be determined.
  • We will not be selling tickets to the Westchester Broadway Theater’s August 20th production of 9 to 5, the Musical, and the November 19th production of Kinky Boots.
  • The NYSUT Regional Conference schduled for October has been cancelled.

Open Letter to Gov Hogan in Response to COVID-19

On Monday, April 6, 2020, AFT-Maryland sent this open letter to Gov. Larry Hogan regarding local and state public employees in the state of Maryland.

AFT-Maryland is a federation of public employees that represents nearly 20,000 workers across the state of Maryland. Our members work in the fields of education, public safety, healthcare and more.

WPEC Convention is postponed until August 15

UPDATE:  The WPEC Convention will be an ONLINE meeting, probably Zoom.  More details later.  Since most of us are supposed to be staying at home right now, we have postponed the WPEC Convention/Annual Meeting to August 15, 2020.
