Security Breach at Anthem Inc.

Anthem Inc, one of the medical insurance providers for state employees, was the victim of a security breach.  It is not yet known if any of our members were impacted.  We will post additional information as it becomes available.

Baltimore charter school teachers may lose union rights

Charter schools play an important role in public education in Baltimore City. One main reason why Maryland ranks so high when it comes to education is because we have charter schools that work. Call for Officer Nominations for Upcoming Election

The election committee for EMUFT is seeking nominations for the offices of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Grievance Officer. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone you know who is a member of the union, then please do so by sending an email to emuft9102@gmail.com, no later than Thursday, February 19th, 2015.

Elections will be held on campus on Friday, March 13, 2015. More details on this will follow. Please look for the list of nominees in the coming few weeks and plan to come vote on the 13th.

Open Letter from John Caldecott to NMUSD Employees

Dear NMFT Members,
 
As you may know, the School Board took action to terminate John Caldecott's employment at the January 27, 2015 School Board meeting. One thing that came to light at this meeting was John Caldecott's request for public information and the Board's refusal to provide it.
 
Since N-MFT has a shared interest with all members of the Newport-Mesa Community and the general public to ensure that our School Board is transparent, we will be making the same request for information as John Caldecott.

Help reverse the Education Budget Cuts! Help save public Education in Baltimore City. Our jobs are at stake!

Governor Hogan's proposed budget cuts to education would be a catastrophe--especially to Baltimore City. Under the Governor's budget, Baltimore City Public Schools would be cut by $35.5 million dollars, or nearly 4%-- the largest cut by dollars or by percentage of any jurisdiction in the state.

Budget Cuts and State Workers

Menasha Teacher's Union Scholarship

Each year Menasha Teacher's Union presents the  MTU Greg Weyenberg Scholarship for $500 to a graduating Menasha High School student or any graduating student with parent who is a current MTU member.
